“Relentless” is a meticulously maintained and professionally optimized 1D35 for both short-handed and fully crewed racing. Relentless received extensive modifications and upgrades in advance of the 2009 TransPac Race, and is turn-key for offshore distance racing, as well as being a blast around the buoys. Relentless is unlike any other 1D35 out there in its offshore preparedness. Stored on its trailer since late 2009 this boat is ready to sail; just hose her off and step the rig!!! Over the course of time since the boat was placed into storage some areas of cabin top have Awlgrip paint that has begun to wear thin from the sun and flake off. Any prospective buyer would need to consider the cost of repainting these areas at minimum prior to purchase.

 High Modulus of New Zealand assisted with the structural design and engineering specifications for the hull, deck and internal structure.

 The hull and deck are constructed of vacuum-bagged unidirectional and biaxial E-glass/carbon/epoxy/balsa/PVC foam laminates, post-cured for maximum strength and stiffness. The carbon is used locally to stiffen the hull and deck because of the high keel, mast and chainplate loads.

 The hull laminate schedule complies with the IMS skin requirements. The combination of the thicker than normal hull core, along with material and density variations to suit local loads, allows a minimal framing system. The internal structural system is a one-piece moulded composite E-glass/carbon-capped/epoxy/foam frame, floor, bunk front structural unit that is bonded and tabbed to the hull. In short, the use of quality construction materials and techniques delivers a stiff, light and low-maintenance yacht.
