Passport 49 Center Cockpit Cutter - Liveaboard World Voyager

PRELIMINARY LISTING

Bob Perry designs cruising boats for couples to travel quickly as far as they wish, all while being comfortable and safe. Passport builds Bob’s designs to be beautiful classic cruising boats of the highest caliber. There are more cruising sailing yachts prying the seven seas designed by Bob Perry than any other designer past and present out there. I know this, for this broker has had three of his designs already and all of them work flawlessly. These designs offer the classic shearline, swept back fin keel with cord thickness, large skeg hung rudder,  powerful bow, and no flat sections; which all translate to a beautiful well balanced cruising boat.

Our offering is a lightly used and properly equipped 1990 Shoal Draft, ICW compatible, two stateroom, center cockpit offshore cutter. Her sailing characteristics are second to none. She is powerful offshore; able to make passages quickly and surely, plus is able to get into anchorages not accessible to deeper draft vessels, all while providing a comfortable home.

“Jag” as she’s called has only had three owners and never really has gone that far. She’s been loved and properly taken care of. On the sailing side, she offers an electric furling main, Harken headsail furler, and a deployable inner fore stay when the wind really pipes up. Again, its nice to have a ICW capable rig because sometimes, it isn’t fun having to be offshore all of the time. Her center cockpit is comfortable and visibly is good, all sail handling still easily done from the helm. She offers a solid bimini and dodger. There is a big powerful up and down electric windlass all with proper ground tackle. There are also wide side decks to negotiate fore and aft. The aft deck offers a custom made lounging area, besides plenty of storage and stainless steel dingy davits. There is a RBI dingy with an 15hp outboard.

Her Yanmar 75hp diesel has only some 1750 hours on her. Her engine room is proper and clean. There are four 4D Gel house batteries offering plenty of DC power, plus an inverter.  There is also a very low 150 hour Entec diesel generator powering the AC/Heat, refrigeration and all of the other “creature comforts” of home. There is also a three Max-Prop for efficient motoring.

The current owner replaced BOTH fuel tanks which isn\'t a cheap and easy task, plus most electronics are six years new or even newer.

Her interior is a very comfortable and spacious two-stateroom, two full bath (one electric toilet/one manual) arrangement. There are two sofa chairs to starboard, a welcoming dining area to port and an extremely workable kitchen. Headroom and plenty of light is everywhere. This is not a cave.

Living aboard Jag won’t feel like camping. Her teak interior is in wonderful condition and shows very little wear.

So, if you’re itching to living aboard and venturing to wherever your dreams lie, and you’re looking for a big, safe properly equipped and cared for sailing vessel, one that won’t set you back some half a million dollars, then this is your opportunity.

She sits on the hard in near Downtown Annapolis for easy viewing.

Accommodation:

The enduring impression on coming down the companionway stairs is the magnificent teak cabinetry. Solid teak staving forms all panels, doors and trim. To starboard of the stairs is the galley with Grunert refrigeration/freezer, Mariner four burner stove, oven, microwave and built in coffeemaker. Twin sinks are on the forward facing counter with hot and cold pressurized water, foot pumps for fresh and salt water and a Seagull filter system for drinking water. Moving forward of the galley to starboard are two comfortable lounging chairs which face the saloon table to port. The adjustable height table with leaves is the centrepiece of the salon and will provide comfortable dining for a party of six.

Forward Cabin and Head:

Moving forward from the saloon, a door opens to port into the head compartment with its own shower cubicle. A large V berth with insert cushion is in the cabin and there is plenty of locker space on either side as well as hanging lockers to starboard.

Navigation Area:

To port as one moves aft from the companionway steps a full size navigation table is found. All instrumentation including SSB, Radar, Ocean PC, American Pioneer forward looking Sonar and instrument repeaters are located above the table. Access to the air-conditioning and main engine compartment are on centerline behind the navigators seat. Moving further aft, the Entec generator with sound shield is neatly concealed behind teak cabinetry.

Aft Stateroom and Head:

A centerline queen size berth with walk-around access is found in the aft cabin. Twin hanging cupboards, drawers, lockers and bins complete the substantial storage. At the foot is the berth is a comfortable bench seat. The starboard corner of the cabin opens into a large head compartment with basin, Groco electric toilet, and separate shower stall.
