Truly a spectacular Sportfishing Yacht, she turns heads and attracts attention in every harbor she visits. “PLASTIC TOY” is the latest of three 78’s built by the legendary Buddy Davis, the largest and most technologically advanced of his many very successful fishing machines. The Davis 78 is steeped in Carolina heritage yet reflects advanced construction of molded hand laid Fiberglass. This construction yields a super strong and long lasting structure built to endure the tests of the sea and time. The custom feature and option list exceeded $800,000 at the original build and ongoing updating and improvements have been regularly undertaken by her current owner including many upgrades in 2013 and 2014. The enclosed pilot house offers a comfortable helm with lounge and is accessed by interior stair as well as cockpit ladder. The pilot house opens out to the aft deck offering a control station and fantastic view of the action below in the cockpit. These boats have roamed the world’s oceans in pursuit of the greatest trophy fish and done so with safety and comfort.

The yacht offers four cabins for owner and guests each with en-suite head with stall showers plus a separate main deck crew cabin. The full beam master is amidships and has his and hers head compartments, his with shower and hers with tub. The interior is appointed with high quality interior furnishings and décor treatments throughout including Granite head and galley counters, elegant head and shower plumbing fixtures, fabulous headboards, headliners, soffits, mirrored and veneered surfaces. Every cabin is lavishly appointed including full component stereo systems and TV with separate Sat Receiver.

The exterior is all business and fully rigged with state of the art fishing gear including Pipewelders Tuna Tower, hydraulic Rupp outriggers, Pompanette Fighting Chair and extensive freezers, ice machines, live wells and bait prep center. The huge cockpit transitions to an air conditioned mezzanine deck for seating and fishing amenities, even a day head! She is powered by Twin 16V-2000 MTU/DDC diesels delivering 3600hp. and burning 100 gph @ 22knots @1760 RPM. She carries 3,000 gallons of fuel, cruises up to 25 knots and tops out just over 30 knots. The legendary Buddy Davis hull form demonstrates the Davis signature exaggerated bow flare, a graceful broken sheer and gentle tumblehome with Teak transom. She delivers a solid, dry and comfortable ride even in the most challenging conditions enhanced by Naiad Stabilizers.
