In general, all outfitting shall be of standard design and constructed of steel or aluminium alloy as approved by Class. Special design and the use of special materials such as high tensile steel, etc., shall be avoided as far as practical.

All fixture’s material for movable parts and/or for securing floor plates, hatches, ladders and stairways, manholes, sea inlet boxes, doors, deck equipment, etc., shall have stainless steel bolts and nuts, screws, stud pins, hinges etc.

All fixtures on the exposed decks shall be of stainless steel material with glossy finish. Other items not specified shall be of either steel, stainless steel or aluminium in their respective location.

All machinery and equipment shall be suitable for marine services of good quality and in accordance with Class and manufacturer’s requirement for the service intended. Main engines, generator sets, propellers, steering gear, pumps, etc., shall have Class approved certificates as required.

The engines shall be arranged for opposite rotation when viewed from the drive end looking at the flywheel.
