Miscellaneous:

“Looking for an alternative way of life, or simply reducing the cost of living? Idyllic, low running costs, no utility bills (fully self sufficient boat!) Then this is for you! Rare example of a Rampart 36 built in 1966, refurbished and upgraded over the past couple of years. Fitted out with double bunk, galley with hot & cold water, gas cooker/hob and 240v/12volt fridge. Head with shower. Main cabin with seating area that converts into another double bunk if required. 12 volt and 240 volt systems. 12v powered by twin 60HP engines, or 2 x 80W solar panels and 500w wind turbine on 2 banks of 3 heavy duty marine batteries. Straight raked stem, raised topsides dropping down to aft cockpit. Low cabin down center line with wheel shelter. Transom stern with twin rudders. Hull - Mahogany planking on Canadian Rock Elm steam timbers, copper clenched. Deck and Cabin - tongue and groove with ply covering. Large sections of deck have been recently replaced along with carlins, cabin sides, deck beams and cabin tops. Through the wheel house and down into the main cabin, port side is a table and seating area which converts into a double bunk. New curtains have been made and fitted throughout. Matching fabric included in the sale to complete covering of the main seat cushions. Boat has both 12v and 240v lighting throughout. Shore connection or generator required for 240v, obviously, and there are several 240v sockets around the boat. 12v is supplied from 2 banks of deep cycle marine batteries, 6 in total, which are constantly on charge by two 180w solar panels and a 500w wind generator. I have found this to be sufficient for general use and have never had the need to change over to the second bank in any day. The main cabin has a point for a 12v TV/DVD with freeview. Heating is provided by a diesel fired warm air heating system (similar to eberspacher) which heats up in no time at all and has a cabin thermostat for control. Alternatively, there is a 1920\'s French cast iron stove (art deco style) which runs superbly on coal briquettes. Moving forward there is a galley area with gas wall heater for hot water for galley and shower room, a stainless steel sink (still fitted with the original whale brass lift pump – not connected but intended to use it for a drinking water supply), gas oven and 4 burner hob. The fridge has been fitted, working on 240v but has not yet been connected to 12v, so not tested. Off from the galley to port, a door opens into the head which has a sea toilet (replaced within the last 18 months), shower tray with curtain and built in sink unit with cupboards beneath. Hot and cold to both sink and shower. The forward cabin has been built into a double bunk which can be lifted to access the original cupboards and drawers beneath. There are also cupboards (for hanging space) and shelves on either side of the bunk. Newel posts add to the effect and the headboard is finished with a beautiful painting featuring HMS Victory and Union flags. ‘Lady Emma’ was last surveyed in 2010. She has new cabin sides, top & front carlins and 90’ of deck beams replaced in 2010. All timber work has been epoxy sheathed and both engines, gearboxes and all electrics were also serviced in 2010. The heating system is easily maintained at 15 degrees even with ambient temperatures outside of as low as minus 20 degrees. Her cruising speed of 8kts is obtained at engine speeds of 1300RPM. On a recent trip from Faversham to Lowestoft (via Harwich) she used 22 gallons of diesel in total.”

Tender included. VAT status: exempt. Viewings are by appointment only. Currently moored on the River Stour at Sandwich, Kent.
