CONSTRUCTION                            

Built in 1986.  GRP construction with white hull and superstructure, fin keel, centre cockpit with wheel steering, masthead Bermudan sloop rig and 6 berth internal layout in 2 cabins plus saloon.

SAILS  & RIG:                          

Fully battened mainsail with mainsail cover and lazyjacks.  Spare mainsail.  Genoa roller reefing system with furling No 1 Genoa. No 2 Jib and storm Jib.  Spinnaker and cruising chute.  Alloy mast and boom and stainless steel standing rigging.

ENGINE:                                           

Thorneycroft T90 1485cc approx 35HP inboard diesel engine.  35 gallon fuel tank.  Alternator charging to 3 x 110 amp/hr 12 volt batteries, 2 domestic and one engine start.  Batteries replaced in 2014.  Shaft drive to 3 blade fixed propeller.  Cruising speed under engine is around 5 to 6 knots.

DECK GEAR:                             

Stainless steel pushpit, pulpit and guardwires, sprayhood, spraydodger, mast-stern winter cover, cockpit cushions, boarding ladder, Whitlock wheel steering with leather covered wheel, spinnaker pole, 2 Lewmar 44 self tailing sheet winches, 2 Lewmar deck hatches fitted over galley and heads.  35lb CQR main anchor with chain and warp, Lewmar Horizon electric anchor windlass with extra battery forward, various mooring warps and fenders.

SAFETY GEAR:                          

6 man RORC liferaft, jackstay lifelines on side decks, Danbuoy, lifebuoy, distress flares, fire extinguishers, auto fire extinguisher, gas detector, smoke detector, rope cutter on propeller (2014), manual bilge pump.

NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT:       

She has a Fluxgate compass, echo sounder, log, windspeed and wind direction, VHF radio, FM/AM radio, SSB radio, windvane at masthead, Simrad WP10 wheel pilot, Raymarine widescreen chart plotter (new), HD digital radar, Navtex, GPS, radar reflector, clock and barometer, navigation light, steaming light, tri colour masthead light and anchor light.

DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT:           

She has a 240 volt shore supply with new Adverc electric battery management system and 3 new batteries 2014.  Eberspacher heating system.   Her galley has an Isotherm freezer with cooling plates on hull, ice box, new cooker, pressurised hot and cold water supply to the sink from 180 litre water capacity.  New 25 gallon holding tank fitted (with deck pump out), separate heads compartment has marine toilet, wash basin and shower with hot and cold water.

ACCOMMODATION:                  

She has 6 berths in 3 cabins including 2 “V” berths in the forward cabin, 2 saloon berths and a double berth in her aft owners cabin.

REMARKS

“Shimmer III” was purchased by her current owner in April 2006 when the boat was located in the South of France.  She has full documentation including the original VAT invoice.   Her owners have cruised the Mediterranean as far as Sicily, Elba, Italy, Spain and France.  The  boat was normally laid up ashore for 2 month each Summer.   Her owners have spent the past 3 seasons exploring the French canals, crossing the channel this Summer and sailing to Tollesbury.    She is a lovely well maintained cruising boat, comfortable and ready to sail.
