JENNY IVES was custom built by professional boatbuilder Roy Blaney of Boothbay Harbor as his personal boat intended for cruising south.  The design was drawn for Mr. Blaney by naval architect Tom Gillmer of Annapolis, Maryland, based on Mr. Gillmer\'s somewhat smaller \"Calypso\" design.  JENNY IVES has salty lines which are most pleasing, and the boat has proven to be exceptionally able and comfortable for coastal and offshore cruising.  Workmanship is excellent throughout with first quality material used in her construction.  The accommodations are nicely finished in cedar, mahogany and teak; excellent ventilation and light are provided below through skylights and deck prisms.  The exterior finish has been kept simple - oiled mahogany trim and cedar decks for ease of maintenance.

12-volt system. Three heavy duty 12V batteries with master switch.  Electrical panel has both fuses and circuit breakers.  Shore power, battery charger, battery condition indicator, converter and solar panel installed in 2011.  LED or flourescent cabin and running lights; also equipped with oil lamps throughout.
