Penbo Flybridge Cruiser

This is an exceptional Penbo 36 Trawler which has had caring ownership, and it shows. The present owner, a retired professional Captain and past Harbormaster of Bath, Maine, has maintained BULL DOG to a yacht-like condition since 2001. Prior to his ownership, BULL DOG underwent a major refit over a 2 year period in the late 1990’s that was performed by Great Island Boatyard in Harpswell, Maine. Some of the extensive work includes a large scarf repair to her stem, sister frames in her bow and where needed, replacement of some oak frames and garboards, and a new shaft log. Vessel was rewired and new fuel tanks installed. Since 2001, the present owner has added an automatic Halon system, upgraded her electronics, replaced her butterfly hatches, and mast step for her steadying sail, also her aft pilothouse back, center windshield post, and replaced a deteriorated section of pilothouse cabin top. A new small section of keel has also been replaced, and she was refastened and recaulked in 2013.

BULL DOG in short, is a wonderful traditional wooden trawler, built with a roomy, charming interior. With the addition of her recent Yanmar diesel and recent electronics, she is capable of cruising the East Coast or further.
