The 42’ Morris DS is easily handled with self-tending jib, and fully battened mainsail with Leisure Furl boom. Their classic good looks and performance have earned M-42’s unprecedented success within the yachting industry.  Among the M-42’s, MOON sets a standard of detailing to be admired.  From her shallow five foot draft, to her rich detailing with full teak decks, comprehensive electronics and offshore capabilities including stanchions and lifelines (she’s been set-up for coastal racing and cruising),  MOON is without a doubt among the best of her breed.

The interior aboard the M-42 features an open arrangement with full-length settee/berths port and starboard with a drop leaf varnished mahogany dining table at center, plus storage outboard.  Forward, there is a double berth with shelves and drawer stowage below, accented by varnished mahogany sheathing. The Herreshoff classic interior is light, bright and open. The main salon has full 6’1” headroom throughout. For those warm summer nights at the marina MOON is equipped with air conditioning.

MOON has a number of custom interior features including:

• Interior bulkheads at companionway are custom mahogany, with satin varnish
• Electrical panel is also crafted of varnished mahogany veneer
• Custom galley shelf at companionway
• Companionway ladder is custom mahogany with a final varnish coating with crushed walnut shells on the treads as non-skid
• Custom Corian in galley and head; “Sandstone”
• Custom lighting plan includes several red/white lights for night navigation, courtesy lights and integral dimmers for all reading lights
• Reverse cycle air conditioning
