Build By The Designer Looping 50' - New arrival

Catamaran, LOOPING 50’ light and rigid, fitted around the world, built by and for the personal use of its designer Patrick Luscher. He made ??a tour of the Atlantic, from Rio de Janeiro, the West Indies and back, then renewed in 2011, Panama and Tahiti by the classical route. Designed with the aim of establishing an average speeds around 9.5 kts shorthanded with less than 100 m² of sails area. This catamaran development owners’ version is very well equipped and lovely maintained by its owners.

Construction

The hulls are building and designed by P. Luscher in strip planking, red cedar, epoxy laminate. Roof cored.

Accomodation

Particular attention has been paid to the indoor air vents, the boat remains cool at all times (if there was a breeze) and porthole under wing bridge can remain open even in the rain at anchor. The large windows of the roof are equipped with a film reflective material rejecting 80% of the UV so no curtains!

Starboard hull owner cabin with bed 140/200cm

Large library records, maps, books of different formats

Bathroom with separate shower starboard

Port hull with aft cabin identical to starboard Largest library in the corridor Toilet at the center Berth / workshop to the front.

Wing bridge, the salon is very bright and deported to port, on starboard a large chart table and the kitchen bounded by a bar. A hatch between kitchen and cockpit facilitates communication.

Rigging, sails

The choice of rotary rig and self-supporting carbon mast, L-rig system, it is requiredby the designer Patrick Luscher who wanted a light boat with little sail area and as simple as possible so you can easily manage the rigging. The mast is self-supporting and rotatable in carbon. No shrouds, but only runners to stiffen the stay. The stay is mounted to a traveler car that can move jibs’ tack on the hull from the wind dropped with a gain of 1 to 2 knots. The main sail can be completely over whelmed that prevents better jibe. The sail area of?? 100 m2 easily manages. The goose neck of the boom\"park avenue\" carbon is mounted on the roof.
