Easton 46 Aluminium Catamaran - New arrival

Easton catamarans are sought after, fast, aluminium catamarans that are true blue water cruisers. Owen Easton designed a series of these catamarans and they are well known for their intelligent safety features such as kick up rudders, foam dagger boards, large watertight compartments fore and aft and overall strong construction. They gain a great deal of extra internal volume with their round bilge flared hulls, giving very roomy interiors.

This cat was completed in Brisbane in 2012 and has some extra features, as designed by her owner. Her two Yanmar engines are sited centrally in each hull and, via shaft bearings and UV joints, long shafts are raised and lowered from a cockpit winch as required. The engines are very easy to work on, being at chest height and covers fast removed. To keep skin fittings to an absolute minimum, the transducer was fitted to one shaft and is deployed perfectly when the shaft is lowered into the water.

The interior has been mostly completed and the remaining space in the fwd port hull remains to be fitted out by her next owner, either as a cabin or workshop etc.

There are a total of four double cabins, each with a Queen size berth and headroom throughout is 2 metres. The starboard hull has the aft cabin, large galley and the next double. Full forward in this hull is a large bathroom, shower and electric toilet. The port hull has the aft cabin, chart table, then shelving, guest electric toilet and the other double cabin. Full forward the space is still unfinished. The cat offers huge storage, for one, the absence of engines aft has created vast space below each of the doubles.

The saloon has the large u-shape seating and is a spacious set up. Lighting throughout is LED. The fitout is mostly foam backed PVC.
