Miscellaneous:

“Scaramouche was built in 1981 and over the last few decades, has performed as a world class sailing boat, training vessel and US marine resource respectively. Having represented the US in several prestigious races including the Admirals Cup, Sardinia Cup, SORC, Race to Makinac and Storm Trysail Club Block Island Race Week, Scaramouche is now successfully participating in races here in the UK. It has taken almost ten years to painstakingly modernise and transform this classic racing boat into a high performance vessel, capable of effectively competing with today’s modern boats. ‘Scaramouche’ is fondly remembered and highly regarded in boat racing circles the world over. It is with the utmost respect then, that her current Anglo and Polish crew continues to develop her legacy and prepare her for gruelling racing schedules over the next four years, with our sights firmly focused on the Rolex Fastnet races in 2013 and 2015. Although all racing revenue is ploughed straight back into ‘Scaramouche’’s upkeep, an acclaimed racing boat such as this is costly. Therefore, to help with purchasing the specific parts required to maintain her peak condition, sailing upgrades, winter fees, mooring costs and insurance, we have offered potential investors the opportunity to play a hands on role in ensuring the sustainability of this majestic craft. Why not read more about Scaramouche’s long and colourful history? Find out about her amazing performance on both US & UK waters, how she helped the US army before enduring her sad decline, and how piece by piece, she has been lovingly rebuilt into the superb racing boat she is today.
’Scaramouche’ represents one of only a few remaining links with our boat racing heritage.”
