Knutson 35 - New arrival

DAUNTLESS is a 1957 Sparkman and Stevens designed wooden sloop built by Thomas Knutson Marine, Inc./Knutson Shipbuilding of Huntington, Long Island,  NY. Knutson built a number of yachts to this design in the late 1950s and early 1960s; very few are still sailing today. She is carvel planked in mahogany over steam bent oak frames with bronze fasteners. Her decks are canvas over marine plywood with laminated deck beams. She has a newly rebuilt fractional rig wooden keel stepped mast and wood boom. Her sail inventory includes a main, a roller furling genoa and a drifter.  She has tiller steering, two self-tailing winches, and basic electronics which include VHF, speedometer and depth sounder.  In the 1990s Brooklin Boat Yard did a rebuild of the vessel. The engine was rebuilt in 2007.  DAUNTLESS with it\'s powerful rig is a joy to sail.

A 2013 marine survey is available for review by potential buyers.  The survey describes some issues.  DAUNTLESS can be sailed although some restoration is required and can be done over time.

Additional photos of the interior will be added.
