Owner of “Vol au Vent” since 1975, I had the opportunity to make several transatlantic crossings.
Built by Huisman in Holland in 1961.
Bermuda-rigged yawl type with centerboard, registered in Louisiana USA (VAT paid in France with french foreign ship passport) built in welded steel with teak superstructures,design inspired by Finistère a yawl designed by Sparkman and Stephens who won many races in the 1950s.
LOA 10.50 m = 34’5”. LWL 7.50 m = 24’7”. Beam 3.10 m = 10’2”. Draft 2,00 m (1, 20 m with centerboard up).
Displacement approximately 7 tonnes.
Ballast (lead) about 1.7 tons.
Fuel tank capacity approximately 175 l.
Water tanks capacity 300 l
Auxiliary engine 2 cylinder diesel, Yanmar type 2QM20H replaced in 1981, pump injection completely refurbished in 2011, witha power about 24 CV. Less than 2800 hours.
Propeller 3 blades bronze new (2011) on stainless steel shaft 25 mm with rotary union, and former two-bladed propeller.
Mast in Oregon pine, Main mast completely revised and repaired in 2008.
Main boom in anodized aluminum anodized and painted in white.
Rigging for the main mast in stainless steel 1 x 19 in 8 mm equipped with Merriman bronze turnbuckles.
Sails in dacron:
Mainsail 24.2 m² with 3 reef bands.
Light Genoa approximately 40 m².
Medium Genoa 30 m².
Jib with one reef band 19 m².
Storm jib in Egyptian cotton 7 m².
Mizzen sail 4.8 m2.
Mizzen staysail 14.5 m².
Spinnaker staysail sail 15 m².
Spinnaker 75 m².
2 Sheet winches in stainless Andersen 40 ST.
1 Lewmar winch 2 speeds and 1 Gibb winch 2 speeds for jib and main sail halyards.
1000 W electric windlass never used model Tiger from Lofrans, powered through electrical wire 70 mm² (AWG 2/0).
60 meters of calibrated chain in 10 mm.
1 CQR anchor 45 lb, 1 Britanny 16 kg (danforth style), 1 fob 16 kg, 1 25 lb CQR.
Aries self steering vane gear.
Compass : Sestrel.
Equipped with front cabin with double berth, Simpson and Lawrence head and washbasin, main cabin with one double berth and a simple one, galley with sink equipped with a foot pump and ENO gas stove 2 burners and an oven and grill installed in 2003, fridge trimixed type (12VDC, 220 Vdc, gas), Chart table, B&G depthsounder, loch and speedometer, electric box equipped with automatic breakers, battery charger 20 A, 3 output 2007, 2 batteries one of 105 A for service and one of 90 A for engine.
Steel plate under toe rail entirely redone in stainless steel in 2000.
The roof deck link (junction deck roof) was entirely redone in stainless steel in 2002.
Teak toe rail replaced in 2003.
Recent stanchions in stainless steel mounted on stainless steel rods.
Steering wheel pedestal support redone in stainless steel.

Bracket for steering wheel pedestal at the level of the cockpit redone in stainless steel.

Engine hood framework in stainless steel in the cockpit.

Fuel tanks completly checked, cleaned,,and equipped with stainless stell visiting plates with fuel intake gates and fuel intake new.
