‘40’ Coastal Cruising Ketch - Well equipped family yacht in traditional Kauri.

Classic lines with good cockpit protection in a  well-balanced sailing vessel - properly equipped for 2 - 4 persons with an extensive  inventory for extended NZ coastal cruising. LOD is 12m & with bowsprit is 13.7m LOA. Beam is 3.76m & Draft is 1.7m.

Her owners are very  experienced - both NZ coastal & more recently, from a 6 yr 35,000 nm family circumnavigation. voyage on a ‘selected for purpose’ larger sloop. On returning to NZ in 2006, they sort out their ideal Coastal choice.

She is strongly built in triple Kauri in 1982 with an integrated ¾ length keel: This is a dry comfortable yacht with ex. weather protection via her solid cockpit dodger: Set up to be easily managed with the  safe Ketch rig .

The masts have been fully restored and are now as new. Sail wardrobe includes all : New primary Main, Self-furling Genoa & Mizzen main & Cordage.

She sails or motor-cruises comfortably at 6 to 7 kts in most conditions: Reliable Perkins 75 HP diesel engine with low hrs (900): Sep. shwr/toilet: Sep. Fwd cabin with tw. berths: Pleasant saloon with attractive traditional timber & overh’d hatch: Sensible galley w good bench space & excellent views out: Good SS tankage vols.
