Shannon 38 Double Headsail Ketch - New Arrival

A double-headsail ketch designed by Walter Schultz, CANNA was built by the well-known Shannon Boat Company in 1981 and is one of the well-thought-out line of 38-footers.  She was built of very high-quality materials, with great attention to all details during her construction.  The owners have cruised aboard CANNA from Charleston, SC to Canada, to include two trips to New Brunswick and one trip to Nova Scotia and PEI.  They have made most of the trips with just two aboard and report that CANNA is comfortable and handles well in heavy winds and is easily handled shorthanded in a variety of conditions.

Although Cannell, Payne & Page has not inspected CANNA, we believe that she is an excellent example of the Shannon 38 and that she has benefited from superior care and upgrades during her current ownership.  She is fully equipped for liveaboard, coastal cruising, or offshore ocean-crossing passagemaking, and we recommend her to anyone looking for a superbly built, equipped, and maintained no-frills boat under 40 feet.

Solid hand-laid fiberglass hull-and-deck assembly.  Full keel with keel-hung rudder and

Edson wheel steering. Deck is tan and deck and cockpit trim are natural teak.

Encapsulated lead ballast. Hull is white with blue boottop and red bottom.
