The Susan Hudson is a 1991 50ft aluminum research vessel built for and owned by Duke University and operated by the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort, NC.  She was built for Duke in 1991 by Custom Design Services of Fulton, TX.  She is a Federally Documented vessel with a current COI.  She is powered by twin Catapiller 3306B diesel engines of 350 HP each with 12,900 hrs. Engines have been maintained and start/run well. She has a 2010, 10KW Kolhler generator with 1350 hrs. Orignally she was built for three A/C systems to cool the interior of the vessel; these units are inop at this time.  The vessel is in good overall shape for a 25 year old boat and ready for a new home.  She can continue in commercial service (she has a current COI) or could easily be converted to a liveaboard/cruiser.
