House Boat / Floating Studio Inspired by photographs of another houseboat called the “Gallery” built in Seattle in the 1800’s and used by at least three early photographers, the current owner, renown photographer Peter Fromm, constructed the present “Gallery” to be used as his floating photography studio. Launched for Sea trials in August of 2005, the \"Gallery\" began her tour. The “Gallery” has been proven to be a successful base from which to sell photographs of the San Juan Islands and a great tourist attraction where ever it goes. It has large 7 ft head room with a unique upstars sleeping or relaxing area. The floating “Gallery” has spent 4 summers in Reid Harbor on Stuart Island WA. , The Anacortes Waterfront Festival, the San Juan Islands Artist Studio Tour, the Lopez Island Artist Studio Tour, the Deer Harbor Wooden Boat Festival and currently resides at the Docks of beautiful Deer Harbor on Orcas Island, WA., where she has served the visitors and tourists being open Friday’s, Saturdays, and Sundays since September of 2009, and Thursdays thru Mondays in the Summer Season. While very much a “character” boat, there are many significant nautical and engineering details which are no nonsense. The “Gallery” is the latest in a series of unusual successful nautical creations by its artistic owner. This floating “Gallery” would be very suited for an art studio, live aboard, or home office. She can be towed or outfitted with two outboard motors. There is a cozy 2-3 person, wood heated sauna, with clear-tight-verticla cedar interior with an addictive oak and yellow cedar back porch swing. Strong laminated yellow cedar bow railings add just the right \"laid back\" styling. The upstairs balcony and porch make for a great \"sunset\" watch.
