This is a new traditional wooden lapstrake tender , completed 2013, built in Honduras mahogany and Meranti, with bronze screws, copper rivets and clinch nails, with oak ribs, sprit rig on a hollow spruce mast. The quality of construction and finish is absolutely outstanding , reminiscent of  fine furniture. Sail & oars included !

SR7 is unique , 1 of 1, and will not be repeated!

My listing description here aims to give you an insight into this unique boat which needs to be seen to really appreciate the quality finish. Built as a lapstrake tender, she could very justifiably make a dramatic statement in a setting such as a yacht club entrance, hotel vestibule or as tender on a classic yacht.

The boat was built at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding and is an outstanding example of the skills taught at the School.

The intricate keel and stem were built in fourteen pieces. The first three planks are steam bent Meranti plywood ,as the curvature could not be achieved by any other arrangement. Using techniques from Thonet bentwood chairmaking, the steamed oak frames have a 1 3/4 radius as they go up the sides of the centerboard well. Designed with a freestanding centerboard well , without a thwart, creates an open space amidship, which is invaluable in such a compact design.

There is a swiveling backrest for the comfort of the bow passenger, and a folding rudder for safety. Sprit rigged gives ease of handling and in keeping with her classical detailing, the halyards are kept on Cocobolo and bronze belaying pins on the breasthook.

Built in Honduras mahogany and Meranti, with bronze srews, copper rivets and clinch nails , with oak ribs, sprit rig and a hollow spruce mast .

She is the ONLY SR7 wooden Prequel - there will be no other.
