Southwest Harbor Rowboats - Available now
Because of great interest and increasing demand, we are offering these fine rowing tenders to meet the needs of the individual who desires a strong and seaworthy boat along with traditional lines and safety features at a reasonable price. Steve Spurling\'s 9\', 10\' and 12\' boats are handcrafted with cedar planking over oak timbers. Steve has been building boats for over 50 years and has lately been building three sizes of skiffs in his shop on Main Street in Southwest Harbor. The 9\' rowboat has a small keel, $6,500. The 10\' pram can support an outboard, $6,000. The 11\'4\" boat is lapstreaked and is built with varnished mahogany seats and trim. Shaw & Tenney oars are included with each boat, $15,000. Jarvis has 1 refurbished 12\' Newman tender. The hull consists of solid fiberglass. Flotation is styrofoam placed in compartments under the forward and aft seats. All seats are removable. Fastenings are stainless with bronze hardware. Outside rail is covered with gunwale guard for added protection and a nylon painter is included. Hull is white. The used tenders are $4,000. Optional Shaw & Tenney oars are sitka spruce, 7 or 7 1/2 feet long, with leathers and buttons. The new tenders are being built by the Newman & Gray Boatyard on Cranberry Island, $6,000. Standard hull color is white, though custom colors are available. Rails, knees, breastplate, stern and seats are wood. This tender can be powered with an outboard of 3 to 5 horsepower. The new Newman punt is a flat-bottomed, 3-seat fiberglass boat, adapted from a locally built skiff. She is finished with a composite wood rail & seats and offers simplicity in design and maintenance, $2,400.
