German Frers Custom 1 Toner

This German Frers is not your ordinary yacht. Messenger has sailed throughout the Caribbean, up to the North Atlantic into high latitudes to Iceland and will continue this summer to Northern Europe. Messenger has a unique history, it is a custom built design by German Frers (1982). It\'s an IOR 1 tonner sloop which raced throughout the 80\'s in the East coast out of the New York Yacht Club in Newport, RI as well as in the SORC races. In it\'s time it was a favourite and won many races.

Messenger underwent a total refit in Newport, Rhode Island in 2014. All structural components were checked by a professional. Components that needed replacement were changed including a full rig inspection. Rigging is Navtec rod rigging. Messenger was built at Louisiana Marine and built extremely well, a lot of care and money was taken to build her as is shown in every aspect of the boat from the tabbing to the custom aluminium chain plates.
